Jami Turner Final Project Overview
So for my final project I was planning on making a seafood restaurant called The Barnacle Bar that would be up in the state of Maine, but I got bored with that so I moved it down to New Orleans, Louisiana. It's a place known for spicy food, jazz and blues, voodoo, and lots of drunk people with beads, so I wanted that to come across in what I was designing without it looking trashy. I tried to keep class and the craziness of Bourbon Street at a balance. This was a pretty tough assignment to do, mainly because I had to look at delicious things for the majority of the project. The restaurant is completely dedicated to making mouth-watering, unforgettable experiences for its seafood loving customers. The restaurant isn't really pointed toward any particular age; the customers just have to like seafood to appreciate it.
I wanted the restaurant to be warm and appealing, so I stuck with mainly dark colors. The lightest I had was a green that stood out, but not by much. I didn't want it to look too busy or too colorful, but it still had to represent the excitement of the neighborhood, so I mainly did that by adding special touches to the menu, like photos of New Orleans, paintings, and posters commemorating the festivals that will be going on in the city this year.
Hopefully everyone appreciates everything I did to get this assignment done; I was pretty particular about how everything looked, so it took me quite a while to get each piece the way I wanted it. Enjoy!
